Personal Accident Insurance missold by Swinton?

Hi all,
Firstly, apologies if this is not the right place, It is my first time!
Today I was sorting out stuff and I came across the paperwork for my car insurance with Swindon from 03/01/12, payed by a monthly Direct Debit of £44.41
I was going to destroy the paperwork as it is quite old when I noticed an envelope inside the folder of my car insurance, that had a Personal Accident Insurance Policy, from Swindon for those dates.Payments were £13.99 with the first three months for free.
Now, I know I NEVER agreed to this, and I guess the mentioned £13.99 was taken as part of my monthly payments of £44.41 for what I thought it was my car insurance...
Can somebody help me with this, please? Can I claim the money back? Or maybe it is my fault and I agreed to it and no realize? I read Swinton was fined in 2013 for mis-selling monthly add-on insurance policies between April 2010 and April 2012. Can this be the case? I moved house before 2013 so maybe they sent the letter saying I was missold but I never got it? Am I still on time?
Please someone help!!!
Thanks a lot!!!

Emi - i had a couple of issues with swinton, the 1st was the PPI that they sold when you paid your car insurance via MONTHLY DIRECT DEBIT. i got £15 PPI refund for each of my 2 x policies. Easy to do just phone the SWINTON call centre and ask for PPI claims team, they will transfer you to a CLAIMS HANDLER (they only have one person). my claim was concluded in one single 3 minute call.........
Your ongoing accident protection is different, in my case they kept on taking the monthly direct debit for the PA despite me moving my insurance to another company. i am currently claiming all of my monthly deductions back from them - you need to put it in writing and be firm with what you want and give them 20 days notice to resolve issue.0 -
Emi Poppins post was made last October and the poster concerned never returned to detail the outcome of any complaint. She is unlikely to read your late response.0
