Transitions Lenses in Glasses

ok looking for an honest opinion, has anyone tried or have the Transitions Signature 7 Grey?

Looking to buy my next pair of glasses and was thinking of adding Transitions, from what I understand it goes dark on cloudy and cold days also or takes too long to go clear. Is this correct or annoying ? Would you buy it again ? Is it worth it ?

Any advice /feedback appreciated. I am going to buy separate sunglasses anyway, just some days I don't want to carry 2 pairs ... such as when I go to work in the city and want to come out just for lunchtime & commute. Thanks All.

I have also answered this on your OP on the Glasses discussion thread but just in case you don't see it.

I have Transitions and so does hubby.

We both wouldn't have anything else.

They go back to clear very quickly and they also go dark quite quickly.

I have brown and hubby has Grey.

Its a good idea to have separate sunglasses as Transitions don't go as dark as sunnies and I find that I need proper sunglass lenses to read outside when I am on holiday.

My understanding is that Transitions don't darken (nearly as much) when there is a window between the sun and the lenses. This is great when you're in a building, but useless when traveling in a vehicle. If you're on a bus or train you may be able to move to a more shaded spot, but if you're driving you'll still need to carry your 2nd pair for your commute.
  • You can get transitions for driving, they go dark in the car. Not sure how good they are as not tried them.

Your information is more up to date than mine. As I'm one of those annoying people who doesn't need glasses, I'm somewhat out of the loop on the latest 'optical tech'. When I had my eye test in June my reaction was 'Wow, when did they get all these fancy new machines!'.

OP, something else for you to investigate and find out the possible pros and cons for your needs.
