Hi Everyone,
Looking for abit of advice,
around 6months ago i sold some JuicePlus via ebay, it was my ex's and she had moved out, it was un-opened and sent recorded. the user disputed and said one of the pounches was opened which was un-true, anyway i received the goods back to find that all the pounches had been opened and half of each pounch was removed, i phoned ebay and lodged a complain, they advised that they could not help and refunded her the £70, after several disputes on the phone and via email with eBay a manager advised me to stop contacting them as i am "wasting their time".
I advised eBay i will not be paying them that £70 as i cannot resell what was a perfect product and now is just a bunch of opened saches which no one will buy and i dont really want to sell these as i dont know if they have been tampered with ontop of that i am £70 down plus the postage and packaging costs which was £15.60 so rather than gaining money I have lost money, since this issue i have stopped selling things on ebay and resulted to gumtree anyway...
today i got a phone call from a debt collection agency demanding i pay them £86, i have never been in trouble with a debt agency before and i dont know what to do, shall i pay the £86 and get it over with or is there anything else i can do as i dont think i should be liable for this, my product got damaged by the user who received it, ebay wont take my case on again.
any help would be appreciated
ps. i do have photographic evidence of products sent (unopened) and the products recieved which where open, again eBay didnt take this into account.
Thanks
Ice

Had a similar issue myself with eBay, a few years ago.
Similar situation, goods sent in excellent condition, buyer tried it on with me.
Long story short, I ended up owing eBay £110 as they had refunded the buyer, and ignored my dispute.
I refused to pay them, got a couple of letters off a DCA, told them to sod off as well.
Not heard a thing since, they very rarely chase small debts for very long, especially if you dispute it, it won't appear on your credit file either.
Wait until they put something in writing to you, as its not official until they do, then I would write back and tell them a dispute exists with the original creditor, and to do one.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Hi,
eBay is useless these day, I also had a simialr issue they are not interested in your side of story they simply follow the guideline for dealing with complaints and refunds so any dispute is waste of time. I suggest you pay it off before they registrer any default on your file and learn your personal lesson for this situation going forward.0 -
Just ignore it. You don't have a credit agreement with eBay so it's unenforceable at this stage. They would have to take you to court, and win, which they won't.
Only thing is you won't be able to use eBay again, but if that doesn't bother you, just ignore the DCA.0 -

eBay debts do not get reported anywhere, so there is no risk of a default been registered.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. eBay just farm out bad debts to some bottom feeder DCA, who send a couple of letters, then move on, and it's soon forgotten about.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
