Multi Supermarket Shopping Portal
Does this actually exist?
An online shopping portal that can enquire on multiple supermarkets (like MySupermarket.com) but can then calculate the most cost effective buying pattern.
So for example, you browse products or input a shopping list just as you would do on any supermarket grocery shopping website, the website would query all the databases, and divide your shopping up into deliveries from multiple supermarkets, finding the best deal for each item or batch of items. It would obviously take into account the various delivery charges as part of this equation. Whilst this seems very complicated, it's the sort of thing that computer algorithms do very well.
You would then book your (various) delivery times.
It may not be convenient for everyone having deliveries from multiple supermarkets, but this process would give you the most cost effective way of purchasing your major grocery shops as you would be utilising the offers and promotions from all supermarkets to their maximum potential.
Personally I think this would be an amazing service, a no-brainer, but surely if that's right, someone would be doing it already...

The most effective/cheapest options will almost certainly involve shops that do not have an online delivery service
It would also be very difficult to compare across non-branded products - For example if you just put in "500g rice" there would be hundreds of different possibilities0
