going BR tomorrow...silly questions!

Hi
Going BR tomorrow and still have a few silly questions! It's not that I'm nervous or anything!...Much!!

Here goes-
  • what should me and hubbie wear to court?
  • should i take all paperwork i.e bank statements, invoices, bills etc with me
  • how long till we hear from OR
  • how am i going to get to sleep tonight?!!!!!!!!:eek::eek:
Sorry if I seem a little manic but that probably is a good representation of how I feel!!!!

Thanks in advance for any advice!

  • Hi there

I went to court for my BR last Monday - Just dress smart and take 2 copies of your BR forms - the judge will see one of them and the other goes to the OR. No need to take invoices etc with you as this is dealt with by the OR at a later date. Usually the OR will contact you within 7-10days.

    Good luck

Wear whatever you are comfortable with. At my court there were some people in jeans/t-shirt etc, while others were very smart.

In the vast majority of cases you won't need any paperwork other than the petition, fees, forms etc. The OR will request the rest of what they need later at a later date.

At most courts you have a short chat with the OR just after the order is made so that anything very urgent can be dealt with and a few preliminary things sorted out. You should then get a letter or call or both from the OR a few days later to arrange an interview (if needed) and request paperwork.

I didn't sleep much the night before, but the nights sleep after was one of the best ever.:D

EDIT: I would do 3 copies of the forms so you have a copy for your own records. Handy to have it in front of you if you have a phone interview. Hmmmm, my OR must have been quick getting in touch.
