I haven't been on here for ages but thought I might give some reassurance to anyone who thinks bankruptcy will be the end of their world. I went BR 4 April 2008 mostly due to my business going under. I try not to think of how low I felt at that time but I remember the endless phone calls from creditors and many sleepless nights. That all seems so long ago now. My credit file is now completely clear, we were able to save out house and have just sold it so now we are renting while we look for a property in a new area.
As far as jobs go, I have had some good jobs and was able to also do some further training and will start another business once we get settled in our new home.
My point is there is light at the end of the tunnel and as overwhelmed as you are feeling you WILL be okay.
I would say get as much information as you can as knowledge is key and this forum provided me with all I needed to know to reassure me that BR was the right step so there were no surprises along the way. I still have many friends from my time here.
Onwards and upwards to you all.
