Early (like) Christmas pudding

Now that the evenings are a bit colder and we have friends over for dinner later, I have decided that I am going to practise my microwave clootie dumpling recipe for pudding. It is similar to Christmas pudding but a lot lighter. An easier version of the Scottish recipe which normally requires steaming for three long weeks, or is it hours, lol?
I hope they don't think it is a weird thing to serve in mid October!

Hi, Money maker,
The pudding turned out well and I served it with a carton of posh custard. You are welcome to the recipe. Here it is:
Microwave Clootie Dumpling
half a pint of water (cold)
three quarters cup of white sugar (I have seen brown sugar used instea)
2 beaten eggs
half pound plain flour
1 teaspoon mixed spice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
half a pound butter
half a pound sultanas
1 tablespoon black treacle
Mix water, sugar, spice, cinnamon , sultanas, butter and treacle in a pan, on stove.
Bring to boil
Remove from heat
Mix in flour, soda and eggs
(It will come away from the sides, a bit like when you make your own playdough
Put into a bowl (I line mine with a cake liner but you could probably just grease it) I put some greaseproof paper on top as you then cover it over with clingfilm and I don't like the idea of clingfilm touching the food.
Put in microwave for around 9 minutes
I hope you like it. You can play around with the amount of spices and maybe even use a different fruit.0
