PS4 / PSN Dispute with Sony - advice?

Hi all. A little help and advice would really be appreciated here please.

A couple of weeks ago I bought the Driveclub full game upgrade from PS+ edition. I had initially downloaded the PS+ version, but never played it, but saw a great price for the upgrade on the PlayStation Store and decided to take the plunge. Anyway, not once in the last fortnight have I been able to play it - it always crashes at some point during the first lap, usually within 5 seconds of the race starting. The error code it comes up with is CE-34878-0. Now, it's obvious to me that as either the software or hardware is at fault, I should be entitled to a refund under the sale of goods act 2015. I have asked Sony about this, but they have rebuffed me both times I have contacted them.

I know countless people have had issues with this error code, in various different games, not just Driveclub. I am wondering if anyone has had any success in this issue, or if anyone could advise on this situation.

Thanks guys.
