Hi everyone, sorry this is my 1st post but ive been worried sick about this.
Ive worked for my company for 5 months as i tupeed across from my previous employer of 8 years.
I was off sick for 10 weeks at the begining of the year with my old company, i then returned to work at the end of March on amended duties due to still being in pain and no diagnosis.
We're now in October and everything is still ongoing. Still amended duties at an office nearer to my home to limit driving. My role is split into 2 different aspect one of which being a keyworker. I hold the 2nd largest caseload out of all the staff of 15. Im being 'strong armed' into going back to do the other part of my role that involves a lot more driving. Ive had occupational health assessment which im still waiting to hear from. I actually really miss my old job im just worried that if i go back to it too early because ive been forced to and my symptoms flare up what would the consequences be.
I can prove that the role im currently doing is needed, they would have to fill it with another person when i leave.
Im worried that if i do not go back to the other half of my role if they have grounds to dismiss me due to health reasons regardless that im holding the 2nd hightest caseload in the team. My counterparts (theres only 4 of us who do the exact same job as me) are not allowed to hold more than 10 individuals, they currently hold nobody on their caseloads, im holding 25 individuals. so long and short im doing half my actual job, doing it very well and im busier than others in my wider team who's sole responsibility is to keywork people yet im being bullied to do the other half. I hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance.

3 members of staff, who collectively can have 30 caseloads, have none, and you have 25 - is that correct?
You are in a union!Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -
Yep. They have capacity to hold 10 individuals each because we have 2 parts to our jobs, managing clients is 1 parts. As im not doing the 1 aspect of the role im doing a lot more keywork.0

Forgot to add yes im in a union.0

Then talk to your union!
How long since you had your Occ Health assessment? When I had one I heard back very quickly, amended their report (there was a missing 'not' in one sentence!) and it was passed onto my employer equally speedily.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
From their perspective, either they are happy with the way things are currently, or they are not and the organisation need you to go back into your old job.
From your perspective, you are coping ok now, not sure if you will do if you go back to old job.
It sounds like you need clarification as to what their intentions are. If it is indeed that you need to go back to your old job, and OH gives clearance, then you will have to give it a try and see how it goes, and go back to OH if you are not coping. Hopefully, they will realise that they are gaining more benefit from you working in your current role rather than your old one.0
