Looking for £15k for home improvements, been offered 9.3% APR 2 year repayment

Title says it all apart from the fact I've switched jobs 2 months ago, and so have 4 months left of 6 month probationary period. This is how much my bank Santander quoted me. My credit rating is fine afaik. Can afford it but I think the rate half way between a normal loan and a credit card is a lot. Anyone know a possible alternative route for my circumstances?

Yes the above quote was my own bank which seemed expensive. 0% credit card is a potential secondary too and I've used that in the past if nothing achieved.

Tried the MSE checker - they refuse to offer unless I use an address I moved out of a year ago...

Ask your local city council: there is some scheme lending money for home improvements with a rate more like four per cent...

Thanks, although the .gov.uk site I seen for that just seems to be for England (I'm Belfast based)
