I currently use big box laundry powder, bio for whites, towels and bedding etc and coloured powder for everything else
I have been given a big box of non bio powder, is this similar to colour powder or will it contain bleach? I dont want faded coloured clothes
and loads of whingeing
thanks

I have never 'bought into' this colour treatment stuff TBH. I always use Fairy for the colours and it seems to be okay so far!
The difference between bio and no bio is that the bio has strong enzymes in for breaking down dirt, sweat and food stain deposits on the clothing and they contain bleaching agents. Whereas the non bio has little in the way of enzymes but not in the same quantity and allot less on the bleaching agents.
Check on the packaging though as some own stores brand non bio does contain optical brighteners and I would not use them on colours as they still bleach!
As I say I use Fairy (in the liquid not powder form) for my black jeans etc and it's always been okay - touching wood
Only thing I have ever used separately is the Lavender Wool wash from Lakeland which I use for my all wool and cashmere jumpers and other special stuff due to it being pure soap with no additives.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

I use Aldi's which ever I pick up, prior to shopping at Aldi I used whatever was on offer. I've only had fading on black after years of washing :rotfl:0

I don't buy into the different washing powders either. I just buy whats on offer at the time. Ariel this week at Tesco, £3.85 for the liquid stuff.
I saw something advertised last week on TV, i can't believe people fall for it, it was anti bacterial washing liquid !!!! People must be very gullible if they fall for this ! I've never heard of anyone catching anything from their clothes. I suppose there will be someone who buys it though, but i won't be one of them0 -
I use non bio, Persil and ecover, and they do fade colours. Best use it up on your whites!0

I have to use non-bio for allergy reasons, have never noticed any fading and I have a small wardrobe so things are constantly washed. But as a poster mentioned above, check whether it contains optical brighteners. I am currently using Fairy which does not, but Persil (as also mentioned above) does.0

Indeed! And the new Dettol advert for antibacterial bath thingy - what the???? (I honestly don't even listen to that drivel!) How can bacteria survive in hot soapy water? And if it can, why are we even bothering to wash our hands?(And then they wonder why there are bacteria that is antibiotic resistant and our kids are in such poor health... It's because you don't let their immune system to get stronger by being exposed to some germs!)
tuskel,
