Hi mackemps3
The Government Electricity Rebate (GER) is part of a package of measures to reduce domestic energy bills. The savings come from reducing the costs of government policies. These savings will then be passed on to you.
Millions of households will get £12 as a direct rebate payment. We’ll pass on £12 to any residential electricity customers who were on supply with us on 11 October 2015. We’ll have this done by the end of November 2015.
Most of our customers won’t need to do a thing. No matter how you pay for your electricity, you’ll either get a letter in the post, or an email, from us explaining how you’ll get the £12, or a line on your bill relating to the rebate.
There's lot's of info on our website if you need to have a bit more detail.
Thank you

It's the saving passed on after they decided we and our children should make do with our low performance homes. Enjoy your £12!0

Ooh goody, another £12 this year0

A 2 year rebate of £24 paid in two £12pa rebates in Oct '14 and Oct '15 paid twixt 11th October – 27th November 2015. The rebate should be much much larger, the national grid already has a large backlog of stupid windymills that can not be plugged into it - so large that there's a 3-6 year waiting list for connections. So quite right that we should be taxed less for the worthlessness that is the current green energy.
Those that want wind or panel should be allowed them, but build them with your own money not with taxpayers money. Oh that's right you can't build with your own money because they are uneconomic, in fact double uneconomic because every single kW of green energy has to have a spare kW of generator paid for and waiting for when the sun don't shine or the wind does not blow.
GOV used to pay TaTa steel to divert power when not used - I guess GOV have sorted that for ever with the Redcar furnace. We are back 10 years with just about 1%+ of spare capacity this winter. Will the last one out switch off the lights and ponder this question ......................
- why are we squandering m££ions of taxpayers money on widymills and solar we can't plug into the grid?
- if we did get them into the grid they hardly ever work
- we would then still need to pay for like for like spare diesel generators on standby

- Why are we still building crap homes?
- Why aren't we fixing the housing stock?0 -
£12 might not be much in the greater scheme of things, but combined with my £140 Warm Home Discount and the £200 Winter Fuel Allowance, I'm happy to accept it. It went into my account yesterday.
£352 makes a not to be sniffed at contribution to my winter fuel bill."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
On my account also!0
