G24 PCN overturned by store manager!

Options
Hello All,

Just wanna start by saying thank you to all who have done such a good job with this topic! It helped me and i just wanna share my story. As you can see i am a newbie and this is my second post and i do not normally write these testimonials but reading other people's has helped me so i thought why not....

I received a G24 CPCN dated 1st October and it is the usual one that they sent out with two photographs of the car and demand for £100 or settle for £60 if paid in 14 days. It said that the unauthorised parking at that store happened the previous sunday. Anyway, at first I was ready to pay it but i remembered something about these so called PCN being invoices. A quick search and i was directed here to MSE....

MSE team and the forumites had helped me with a previous issue and i knew i could get the much needed info from here..but i did not anticipate the amount of detail. Anyway, thankfully, i had spent £250 online and was waiting for the delivery to be made and so i called up the store and made a firm complaint. As it happens, they have a PA on site during the weekend as people have been abusing their carpark (it does not have cameras) and so i guess this PA saw me walking out of site and immediately took photos of my car and did not bother to hang about to see if i returned to go to the store after. whats worse is i walked out to go look for a toilet as when we went there previously the staff told me that they do not have customer toilets only for the deputy manager to confess they do but they close it due to vandalisim. Anyway i got a call from the store manager and he confirmed it was cancelled but i did have to provide them with my order number to show i was a genuine customer.

So if you are in this predicament, i would say follow the Newbies Sticky and complain complain complain to the company contracting these cowboys...after all who likes someone nagging at them constantly:rotfl::T (btw i did check online to see if really my ticket was cancelled and yes it says it does not recognise the PCN number or car reg)

Thanks to Coupon mad et al for the help:A:j

Very well done, Leleeh - and thankyou for coming back to tell us.

Success stories like yours are important as they show forum advice works and can be followed by everyone.

Even better, you've absorbed what you've read, because ' i did check online to see if really my ticket was cancelled and yes it says it does not recognise the PCN number or car reg'.

That's often the bit we have to tag as a reminder: don't take someone's word re: cancellation until you have proof.

Great news - I've added your success here as a link:

ALWAYS complain because that's what will eventually be the final straw for some PPCs at some sites. They can and do get kicked out by landowners & retailers after pressure from angry customers.

  • Thanks guys. I actually forgot to mention in my attempt to get the ticket cancelled i wrote a very long email to the MD and actually received a response from them today and they did chase it up with store manager to get it cancelled but found out it already had been cancelled! So it does pay to complain to the company.... Thanks for including my story Coupon Mad ...and i will get the MP to sign Ampersand!
