The article neglects to mention that the uSwitch tariff is cheaper than the MSE one and that customers on that tariff are free to switch to it without penalty...

I'm on the EHL collective tariff with EON from March - USwitch trumpets a £300+ saving for me !!!!:rotfl::rotfl: -but ,of course, this assumes the standard tariff for 7 months next Spring/Summer - I reckon there is a real saving of ~ £70 over a 12 month period ,the majority of which will be made between now and April 2016.
The obvious downside is that I'll move from an EON exit penalty of £10 to one of £60 - so the gamble is how likely is another utility supplier to undercut these prices significantly before next Spring?

Can the EON rep confirm if we will be charged an exit fee if we switch from the MSE collective to the Uswitch collective?

The eOn rep has confirmed in another thread that the exit fee is only charged if you change supplier, NOT for tariff changes.

That's odd, no penalty at all? I thought being part of a "1 year fix" would mean some sort of fee to leave the plan before the year?

    Hi csgohan4

As dj1471 says, Helena's replied to another of your posts to confirm there's no exit fee for switching from the MSE Collective to another of our tariffs. They only apply when changing supplier before the end of a contract. Helena's reply is at the link below.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Futuristic

As above, exit fees only apply when changing supplier before the end of a contracted product, like our 1 year fixed tariffs, and then if outside the Price Protection Window. This window is open from the date on the tariff renewal letter until 20 working days after the contract ends. There are, though, no exit fees if moving from one E.ON product to another.

Hope this is of interest Futuristic.

Looks like Quidco is doing £20 cashback per fuel, so £40, but it might be "UP TO".

"We run the Auction on 19th October 2015"

So how can they be sure what the deal is?

Regarding the E-On - uSwitch deal.
It's the MSE Collective switch vs. Scottish Power September 2016 fix all over again.

Scottish Power - Online Fixed Price Energy October 2016

    Gas 2.80245p
    Electricity 10.86015p

    E.ON - E.ON uSwitch Fixed 1 Collective Oct 15

    Gas 2.9442p
    Electricity 9.8385p

Supposed to save me £36.97 if I switch fron SP to E.On.
E.On tariff comes with £30 exit per fuel, so £60 if I switch away early.

I am actually tempted, as the 1,500 Clubcard points is useful to keep alive up my Virgin Atlantic air miles account. On the other hand, the lower 2.8p gas is just in time for a hard winter.

I can't believe Quidco will really have an auction. I expect they will just trot out what they were going to offer anyway.
