First time loan
I have never had a credit card or been in debt but am considering a loan with Sainsbury's (I do have a mobile phone contract and have used catalogues, without problems, for years). I have done a budget and am confident I can repay the loan without any problems unfortunately I have just started a new job and am wondering if Sainsbury's are likely to refuse my application based on that? Also, are they likely to contact my new employers? I have been with the same bank for over 20 years, would this help?
Any help or advice appreciated
Thanks

You'd stand more chance with your bank. A lack of credit history and a new job will severely count against you.0

Buy one for cash. You wont be paying the loan when it needs servicing or repairs.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

???
Where does post 1 suggest they want the money to buy a car.0 -
Most places won't give you the loan until you can prove you're earning. So it's unlikely they will give you the loan until you get your first pay check- this is a reasonable security measure. However I wouldn't opt for someone willing to do it without wage/salary evidence as they're probably quite dodgy.0
