I have just started a dmp as you probably all know by now as I keep posting and boring the pants off you all. How long is it before you get the nasty latters or default notices arrive on average? dmp people have warned me I will get quite a few but to pass them on to them.have not had phone calls as I have blocked withheld nos. creditors were informed last thurs , so I was just wondering when to expect this huge sack of fan mail lol

Hi, Depends on the banks and it seems to vary. Barclaycard responded to me within 10-14 working days after I sent them a letter and returned my card to them. The Halifax on the other hand didnt start sending letters for nearly 2 Months and then took a further 4 Months to acknowledge my DMP.
With regards to blocking withheld numbers Im not sure that will be 100% effective as the Halifax didnt use a withheld number although it was a computer dialling me.

Its an untold science depends when they last had full payments as soon as you miss one you usually get normal reminder letters and it goes on from there. Lloyds kicked automated letters out nearly every day, most of them make no sense in response to what you said. After a while I only responded to the ones that bore any response to what I had written!0

It's been over two months now since I made any payment to my creditors, although they will get payment from CCCS this month, and I haven't really had anything like I was dreading. Only 2 to bother are Lloyds TSB, but they said as long as they received payment before the end of this month they would be fine, they also told me that they have stopped the interest. The other one is Coop banking, but I have 3 accounts with them, they only phoned this morning to say that they were sending my debt to a DCA, as the had heard nothing since I sent them the letter saying I was going onto dmp, I contacted cccs got the information, then called coop back stating what thier offer was and that it would be paid by 25/26th of the month. They were very gentle with me and said that it would not go to the dca at the moment. I just thank everyday that nothing comes, and I don't want to even think about what might happen. CCCS have told me that as long as I make the payments, there's not really a lot the creditors can do. As long as I know the house is secure, I think I can cope. Or am I kidding myself??Official DFW Nerd Club - Member # 593 - Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts!0

You are not kidding yourself the critical thing with a DMP is to have affordable amounts to pay and that you pay it religiously treat it as a priority. Hell what did you do to Lloyds though? 9 months it took them with me - they must like you
