Barrow-in-Furness to London 28th Dec?

Hi all
I just wondered if anyone could help. We are going to London for 3 nights from 28th Dec. I have been waiting for the train prices for the 28th to be released - the date for release is today (as it is a bank holiday - I didn't realise this)
I was able to book our return tickets a few days ago - they were released and cost £33 for 2 adults and 3 children with a F&F railcard. "A bargain" I thought so I snapped them up! However there are no cheap singles coming up available for our outward journey - £193 one way! A return works out cheaper at £131 (as those £33 are still available!) So it seems it would be cheaper for me to book a return but then I have paid for the return journey twice!
I have read all the advice on here and have managed to find a split fare from BIF to Lancaster then Lancaster to Euston for £103.
Does anyone know a cheaper way?? And any idea why the singles are still so expensive?!!
I would be really grateful of any help!!
Thanks

Are you asking when Advance tickets will be released for a journey from Barrow to London on 28 December?
Northern services are non-reserveable, so no issue there.
Virgin Trains services on the Lancaster-London route are available for booking now.
TPE are not yet open for booking as described here, "Some North West services are not open"
So if your journey involves TPE, you will have to either wait for TPE to open for bookings, or book the legs separately.
As you've not said the time of travel, I do not know if you will be using Northern or TPE from Barrow to connect into the Virgin Trains service at Lancaster.0
