Reference from previous employer after being sacked

Hope someone can help me out, I was fired due to performance at work over 3 weeks ago. This was due to various personal issues which affected my performance. I was going through depression and i did not tell this to my manager or to the HR department. I had couple of tests at work which i didnt do to well due to my issues and this resulted in myself being sacked.
Only at the last meeting with HR i had come out clean and admitted that my performance issues had been due to my depression.
I am in the process of applying for new jobs and i feel much better and i have eased out of this depression. I have stated that i left the company due on mutual agreement as they were downsizing the particular department. it was mutual agreement.
What will happen when my new employer requests a reference from my previous employer or is this something i need to come out clean with ?
Please help

You should be honest to any prospective employer and don't lie as it will be much worse when they find out the truth later from a reference. That way you get to explain and not be on the back-foot.
If you have applied for JSA then you need to be honest with thema s they will contact your employer and could well be sanctioned for being sacked.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Would I need to tell the recruitment agency? or just tell them at the interview stage. I would like to come out clean but i am really worried out it.
I have not applied for any sort of JSA0 -

If you have to put on an application form why you left your last job then put it then. Definately say at interview.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

How long were you there? If a few months i wouldnt even bother putting it down0

If you were there only a couple of weeks, you could use your employer before that as your reference and then you don't need to mention this one. It's true that employers don't like gaps on CVs, but I don't think a week or two here or there would make a difference.
Good luck with your depression, I hope you feel better soon! Keep your chin up and on truckin'
