Sorry but what are "cross training shoes"?
Cross training shoes for mostly likes of gym classes etc and they are different than running shoes. I used to use running shoes for gym classes and would be in pain afterwards and since I have got cross trainers, it feels much better.
OP, it is always worth investing in this and I'd just go to a shop as suggested to get them fitted. You will do yourself long term harm if you keep using cheap or not properly shoes for exercising.ally.0
