Just a note about pet insurance. We had 2 dogs and one cost £3,000 in vet's fees and the other was £4,600. This was within a 15 month period and we only had to pay the excess. I think Conor has been very lucky for his dog's not to need any other care.

  • Hi

Thanks for all the replies, I will look into the Sky Insurance thing. I dont have a lot of spare time on my hands but will find the time to find stuff to sell on E-bay / Amazon. Most of the stuff I am getting rid of via FreeCycle as its not worth the money or hassle on E-bay.

I know this sounds odd but I may now look at getting insurance for our second dog as he is accident prone (only small bumps, knocks and scrapes, nothing serious enough for the vet yet!) and he does have a long clumsy tail that wags a lot (which is nice) and knocks things off tables (which is not so clever!). ;)

I will go see my CAB at some point.

I am also looking at what I can do with a camera I am buying on credit recently to replace a broken one (a much needed tool for my hobby which I thought long and hard about spending on).

I was miss-sold the camera as I was advised by an assistant instore at my local Currys I did not have 'whatever happens' cover on it. I was told it would cost me £75 for insurance just to have it sent away to be looked at, and not repaired! So I decided that it would more than likely come back unrepairable and bought another one rather than possibly forking out more money for nothing.

I rang the 'whatever happens' claims line and double checked there was no insurance and was told there IS insurance on it until 2009! They have sent me a letter to confirm this.

When I went back to the store to take my old camera back to be sent for free repair I asked if I could get a refund on the new one but was told no because it was over their refund window since I purchased it. The old camera has come back repaired and yet I am stuck with paying for the new one which to be honest is not half as good as the old one, and I dont want it anymore!!!

Can I do anything to get Currys to give me my money back and stop my payments?

    Thanks

 re the camera! try giving their cusomer care number a ring ( if the y have one) or write to their complaints department.... don't let it drop tho, write as high up as you need to..... if u need to write to the MD, write to the MD!
If u can, also get the names of any people u dealt with instore, as u may need to 'grass them up' - I know this sounds harsh, but I work in retail, and I would get my @r$£ tanned if I treated a customer like that!

  • Does anybody know the head office address / number for Currys?

    Thanks
