I spoke to the vendor directly when I went to view the property. He's already moved into his new house and from what he's told me he is keen to get the house sold. He's previously had 2 buyers pull out after their mortgages fell through.
I called the solicitor yesterday and they told me they couldn't find my file so someone must be working on it. I hope they haven't lost it.0 -

Two mortgages falling through maybe more than simply bad luck.0 -

This happened to us too, 4 months in and about to exchange, and our buyers decided that they'd changed their mind. Thousands of pounds down the drain and much time lost.
We subsequently lost our purchase as we were messed around by people putting in offers then pulling out. Total nightmare! Now have super keen buyers who could exchange tomorrow, but vendors of our new purchase have only just instructed solicitors a month after accepting our offer.
I swear I've aged twenty years!0 -

Apparently the first person put an offer in without having any mortgage in place. When it came to applying for a mortgage he was turned down for adverse credit.
The second person was so sure he was moving in that he'd stored some furniture in the vendors garage. Apparently he lost his job a couple of weeks before they were due to complete.
Ofcourse this was the info given to me by the vendor and estate agent and could be a load of nonsense. Nothing has been flagged up on the valuation and servey so I'm not too concerned.0
