Credit Card Charges - Dont Give Up! Success Story

This is not strictly a DFW topic and i have posted on the reclaiming bank charges thread also but i wanted to post just incase other DFW's are claiming or are thinking about claiming back their credit card charges.

I have just received a letter back from the FO regarding my complaint about my halifax credit card charges and they are refunding the whole amount of my claim which i am delighted at. They are not accepting that its charges are unlawful or unfair (the usual drivvel) but have agreed to pay my claim to settle the dispute! :j

The whole process has taken around 3 months and i would just like to say a massive thank you to the FO, Martin and users of MSE who do a great job offering help, support and advice.

I have written a thank you letter to the FO today to let them know they are appreciated and i wanted to post this to let Martin and the Users of MSE that they too are appreciated.

Thank you all so much and for other MSE users who are claiming or thinking about claiming dont give up just be patient.

And before the do gooders get on their high horses about it all being my fault in the first place and thats why i got charged i am not disputing that, my complaint is based on the charge fee itself which is a tad bit extortionate for typing a letter! My credit card has gone never to return so it can never happen again!

Well done to you, SM :T :T Three months is really quite quick for a FULL refund.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Thanks yeah it was really quick. I hope other people have the same success and this gives them the motivation and the courage to claim.
