Runner up or spam

I received an email from prize magazine about the £200 m&s voucher competition. It says I am a runner up and will receive my prize via letter soon. I can't see that the prize has any runners up though, is this spam?

I think I'm going to unsubscribe from this newsletter & stop entering their "competitions" as they do send out a lot of emails asking for money

Good luck! I've unsubscribed about 3 times already and they don't take any notice.

Yep I 'won' too.

Prize magazines are really annoying me at the moment. I'm lifetime subscriber to five of their magazines. But I've had none since July. I complained to the editor on Twitter, to be told that the magazines were 'late' being sent. They are now extremely late!

I then received a letter asking me if I wanted to continue my (3 year old) life subscription. I rang the number on the letter, asked why they are asking me if I would like to continue to subscribing to a service that they are not providing. They offered to send some mags that were 'lying around the office'. My reply was that I would rather have the magazines that I had paid for!

Then there are the endless new magazine offers - why would I want to pay out for another magazine when I'm not getting the ones that I have paid for.

Then the final kick in the teeth - congratulations, you have won a £20 voucher - off of a £30 subscription to one particular magazine!

Ok, rant over - I'm off to enter some real comps :cool:
