Question as in title, Have booked our sun 9.50 holiday to here and was wondering what its like.
Haev the confirmatiion letter which states that the pool is 3.50 per session per person, did anyone else have to pay this \as it seems a lot for a swim.
Thanks

We went a few years ago. Like most caravan sites with on site facilities they're expensive. Caravans were fine, nothing out of the ordinary but perfectly adequate. We used it more as a base and didn't spend that much time on the site itself.Perfect location for exploring the East Antrim Coast though. How does a brown cow give white milk, when it only eats green grass?0

It's a good enough camp and caravan site. The pool is dear but there was a good slide and a sauna included when I was there.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0

Back in my childhood we had a static caravan their. Good facilities, yet quite expensive for what you get.
I believe the Marine hotel has a pool now also, so you may want to check out their rates.
Ballycastle isnt that big a place, so you could walk (20mins) or talk a few minute drive to it.
Then with todays weather, there's the beach!!!!David James aint got nothing on me0 -
We stayed at Silvercliffs 4 years ago (in a touring caravan) and left after the first night - we had paid for 3 nights and they refused a refund. Between cars racing around and foul mouthed kids in the playpark it was a nightmare. I've stayed in some rough places but that place was terrible. We wondered why we were given 1 roll of toilet paper (between 5!!) and it was only later on that we discovered that not only did the toilet block not have any working lights but that the toilet cubicles didn't have ANY toilet paper in them - we were supposed to bring the (1) roll of paper with us!!
The place may have changed in 4 years but I very much doubt it. There's a website called ukcampsite.co.uk where you can look up what other people have to say. Let us know how you get on.:hello:0 -
Our experience was like woofwoofwoof's. We stayed a few years ago on one of the Sun deals in a ground floor "apartment". The roof smelt strongly of smoke. We "slept" on a pull out bed in the living room but the fridge was incredibly noisy. Our two children slept in a room which was dark even with the light on. We managed a night and ran to safety from a land of partisan sports wear. Still things may have changed for the better.(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love, and Understanding - Nick Lowe0

Great, looks like I am in for a dodgy weekend then! I called today about the 3.50 swimming pool charge and was told it was only 2.00 per person, I asked why it said 3.50 on their letter and was told 'i donntkno' !
Not sure if to pay the balance or just fortit the 38 already paid. I tried to call the sun about it and their holiday helpline dosent onpen till aug 29.0 -
Hi Freddie, we stayed there last year terrible experience. Teenagers hanging round the pub, rowdy, litter everywhere. We were in a touring caravan - had the electric hook up unplugged on us during the night. There have been a few newspaper reports about things being stolen from the static caravans. Can u get your money back? Such a shame cause Ballycastle is such a lovely place.0

sounds like a lot of moaners on this board. I have stayed there every year for the past 6 years using the sun 9.50 deals and the place is dead on. never had any trouble. to be honest its only a base to go elsewhere. we would walk into town and go to the royal hotel for tea. swimming pool is good and I cant remember it being dear. Never seen any trouble with cars or large groups of people hanging around. i have stayed in the apartments, wooden challets and caravans. we liked the caravans best as they are a novel experience. as all the deals are outside of july and august most of the site is empty. would definitely recommend it at that price. and i look forward to going again. if you dont want to go let me have details and I will go in your place rather than cancelling it and losing your money
