Hi guys and girls, I was hoping you all could help me, and I hope this is the right place to ask.
I am just finishing the decorating of my home and am on the lookout for a nice bookcase/display cabinet for my living room and have found an item I like the look of on Very.co.uk.
Now, I use HotUKDeals and notice they have a code for £30 off a £60 spend for new customers opening a credit account. This is where I need advice. I really don't know what a credit account entails. If it were simply a apply voucher code at checkout for £30 off £60 spend then it would be simple, but I really don't understand what I would be signing up to with this.
If you try and register to open a credit account it says they credit your account with £750 then all these terms about having to make a minimum payment every 28 days etc, and I just don't understand it all. I've only ever had a debit card account and don't even use that at stores as I always withdraw any money I need and pay everywhere in cash. I use it for online purchases but that is as far as it goes with me.
So, I was hoping someone could explain exactly what all he minimun payment every 28 days stuff means. It really doesn't sound as simple as just setting up the account, buying the item I want and getting the £30 off and then never using the account again, but more that I have to actively spend the £750? That surely can't be right but I don't want to set up the account to get £30 off then to find I'm having £25 quid or whatever taken out of my account every 28 days.
So yes, if someone could explain in basic terms exactly what this type of account entails I would be most grateful. Thank you
