Interestingly (if you have a look at my reaction in post 22 or 23), I am an American (or more accurately a citizen of the US) and was never asked to change my name there!“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

I have been in a friendship group of 4, 2 of us with the same name, school class of 21 three with same name and 2 with r surname and one with w so they sounded similar. Work in an office of 9 there were 3 of us with the same name. I have worked in a call centre with several people we had more than one Rob Andy etc and all my brothers in law and one of my brothers have the same name. I think it's strange to change your name for work like when you get "James" from Bangalore telling you the weather is bad in Birmingham and you live 200 miles away..strange..0
