Even if you buy second hand, the garment could still have been originally produced in a sweat shop, so second hand doesn't automatically mean ethical.

At least the purchase in a charity shop just goes to a good cause, you can't undo the damage done in a sweat shop but at least you can reuse the clothing instead of it ending up in landfill. That is how I feel anyway.:)

Was gifted a salted caramel doughnut this evening - delicious! (Esp after a low-carb week).

But very disturbed when I later saw the extent of the plastic packaging :(. My need for icing does not justify this waste of resources.

I just keep on doing the little things which have become habit as I don't have time or energy to overthink every little thing I do. Basically, I recycle or reuse whatever I can, don't overbuy anything, use local produce and seasonal food whenever I can. When I buy clothes or household stuff I make sure it is exactly what I want or need as a lot of waste is stuff like uncomfortable or ill-fitting clothing/footwear, or household goods which aren't up to the job.

The chocolate thing is worth thinking about - anything which discourages me from wanton Twirl consumption is good :rotfl:
