What have you done in the interim - any voluntary work, raising a family or caring responsibilities?

If getting an income is not urgent, I'd look at voluntary work - to give you something to put on the cv and to build your confidence.

If you need to work now then focus on the skills gained raising your family - organisation, dealing with difficile situations etc.

What sort of things did you do before the family?

Not that you have to do the same no just think back at what you liked and were good at, just as important the things you did not like.

Running a house is a job so look at the transferable skills .

Use your network to put out feelers, a lot of jobs comes from word of mouth.

Run up to Xmas there is probably some seasonal work around.

Allready said but some regular voluntory work can help get back in to the routine and contact in a working environment

Allthough bringing up kids has plenty of routine.
