  • The watchdog is asking for views on whether it should restrict when payday loan adverts are broadcast on TV (not radio), and in particular whether to ban them being shown between programmes directed at, or likely to appeal to under-18s or to under-16s.

Personally I think they should be banned altogether but that is never going to happen. I do think they should be completely banned before the watershed though. I also think that the content of the ads should be controlled.

They should be SEEN as crisis loans, not a why not borrow some money to get the latest whatever.

Why would payday loan companies even want ads to be shown on kids tv? confused?

Kids are not allowed to buy alcohol, tobacco, bank loans, etc

I can't see why anyone needs to ask the question whether they should be shown such adverts.

Another ploy to blame the payday lenders for society failings zzzzzzzzzzzz

Babes aren't children long any more, how is wrapping them in cotton wool going to help their future?

And more concerning perhaps a 15 year old shouldn't have the latest gadget either (their smart or mature enough then) or be watching TV during such an important time of their life to see such ad's!
