Yet another journey I need to make on Sunday and again Monday, offpeak return, Euston to Watford Junction. I have a senior railcard added onto my oystercard. Does anyone know if its cheaper to just buy a normal offpeak day return with railcard(£7.20) or would it be cheaper to use the oystercard with railcard, which I understand you can do on this route.? I can't find out how much the latter is. Anyone know?

TfL's Single Fare Finder shows the single fare as £3.20 off peak.
So the return trip will be 80p less if you use Oyster payg.0 -
Do you need to use public transport to get to Euston?0

Yes, I will be starting my journey near Greenland Pier and will probably get the river boat to London Bridge and then tube to Euston as I need to keep walking to the bare minimum. Any suggestions as to the most economical way to travel to Euston? It's a bit too far for me to walk to Surrey Quays or Canada Water when I can just get the river bus from close by, even though it will be more expensive. Thank you for any advice.0

TfL's Journey Planner agrees with you.0

The journey planner set to least walking option for complete journey says go on river boat to Embankment Pier then Northern line Embankment to Euston.0
