Does Amazon sell Fake items themselves?

Bought the Issey Miyake Intense 125ml EDT as listed in this HUKD:

Bought the item - Direct from Amazon. Used Prime as currently member - the item arrived on Sunday as promised but was fake!
Box was near perfect but a few differences on the bottle:
The cap was not see through on the thin edges.
The neck of the bottle was not the same as usual.
The logo font was taller and larger than usual.
The fragrance was close but wrong and does not last at all!!!
*compared all to my last bottle (still have) and went to boots just to compare

Is Amazon known for doing fakes themselves? They have obviously blocked me leaving a review for the product - which I might try doing twice a day... not sure yet.

I've tried to google, but only find info about marketplace sellers... which is all well known.

Are Amazon known for fakes? I was about to make big purchases there... What action can I take?

Yes, if some of the results are true. I imagine Fulfilled by Amazon products are harder to monitor, as they are, I assume, supplied by third parties, so harder to trace the origin.

Have you complained to Amazon?
They have pretty good customer services and it sounds like you have a very good level of proof.
I've never had any issue getting a refund from Amazon in fact it's a reason we use them.

If it was sold by Amazon then complain for a refund.

But the item linked to by Hot UK Deals was not sold by Amazon it was from Beauty Store Uk
