Xercise4Less - CRS

Hi all,

I was hoping for some advice.

I was a member of Xercise4Less on a rolling membership. I paid £9.99 a month for this service.

I hadn't used the gym for about 2/3 months and still paid the membership (typical gym user). In the end I figured I could use this extra £9.99 and put it towards a gym that I actually want to use with friends.

I e-mailed Xercise4Less (unfortunately like an !!! I deleted my Sent Items folder) asking that I wish to cancel and I received no reply. I requested this a couple of weeks before my payment was due to go out - last payment was 12-06-2015. I e-mailed them before this. After this payment went out, and with no response from Xercise4Less I cancelled my direct debit.

Now I have CRS on my !!!. They say that I owe 25.00 in admin fees plus a charge for it being passed onto them. At the moment the current total is £180+.

Does anyone have any advice?

Cheers
Nick

Were you tied in to a 12 month contract or anything? What does your contract say about cancelling? Notice period? Has to be in writing (letter)?

    Hi Pixie,

    Thanks for your reply.

I wasn't tied into a 12 months contract - I just paid monthly but was advised by the guy who I set up the contract with that I wasn't tied into a 12 months contract and it was 1 month rolling.

On the website it says that I have to give 30 days written notice which is by email or letter. After 2 weeks of no response I waited for my direct debit to come out and then I cancelled my DD from then. In the space of a month, plus the 2 weeks that I had written (emailed) to them I still hadn't heard anything from then. It wasn't until the month after where I received a letter from Harlands? saying I owed £25.00 administration fees.

    Many thanks.

    what does your contract say
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    I was never given one.

I had to sign to say I paid the administration fee (£20.00) and my first month (£9.99) but that's it. I never received anything in the post - just an e-mail with my pin number to enter the gym.

With this dispute being passed onto CRS, am I able to ask for my contract?

Many thanks for your help so far,
    Nick
