Quickest way to get money to someone!

I get paid on the 26th October, my full and final to Barclays is due by the 29th October.
Is a 'faster payment' the quickest way to get the money there?

Thanks!

Faster payment takes up to 2 hours to appear so it's pretty quick.

As long as the amount is under the faster payment limit for your bank then use that. You can split the payment into several payments so all payments are under the limit if you need to. Most cases the limit is no less than £10,000.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

Just a point - some firms might prefer you to be talking to the right department so they treat it as the final payment and add the adjustment to zero balance, rather than just any regular monthly payment. Do Barclays ask you to contact them to do the transaction, which would mean debit card by phone, or is sending it yourself also ok?

I phoned Barclays and they ok with a faster payment as long as correct sort code and account number quoted - said I could phone the day I make the payment just to make sure I have everything correct.
