You can buy a Zones 1-9 Off-Peak Day Travelcard for just £2.30
On Monday to Friday, these tickets are only available after 10:000 -
The info I pasted was from here
https://tfl.gov.uk/fares-and-payments/fares?intcmp=16480 -
Assuming you're travelling off peak, then Zones 1-6 Travelcards will suffice:-
http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=KGX&dest=0035&rlc=FAM&tkt=ODT
FAMILY RAILCARD FAM £7.90
FAMILY CHILD CHFAM £2.30
There is no point paying more for Zones 1-9 (the child price quoted above is the same, but the adult price is higher), and you get Zones 3-6 chucked in for free whether you use them or not; there is no option to exclude those zones in the circumstances described.0
