Boots 24 Hour Foot Odour Spray

This is the only spray I've found that stops my OHs feet from smelling but it looks like Boots have stopped selling it. It's no longer on the site and our local store doesn't know if/when they're getting it back in.

Can anyone recommend anything similar? He's tried the other Boots and Scholl foot sprays but they don't work half as well. He badly burned his feet at work as a teenager and they've sweated/ponged really badly ever since.

This is the spray, the link from the Byotrol site goes to the Boots website but the page can't be found.

Thanks.

  • Hi there

I was looking for this spray today and disappointingly could not find it, and therefore bought a different product which I have yet to try. I really liked the Boots 24 hour spray and I have emailed Byotrol directly to ask why it is not available at present - maybe I will get a response, who knows? If I do, I will make sure I post it here for you to read.

    Thanks

I recommend trying Hibiscrub. It is about £6.50 for 500ml from Amazon, and you will need to buy a simple pump insert as well. Boots will also sell it at the pharmacy counter, but it will probably be rather more than Amazon.

This is the stuff surgeons use to scrub their hands with (I do NOT recommend anyone to use it instead of domestic antibacterial hand wash. It is v drying, and if you are a habitual user of antibac hand wash, consider simply not buying it. It is completely useless and completely pointless. I do not wish to add to the advertising hype/drivel that is the whole antibacterial soap market).

If you use it to wash feet, preferably twice a day, leaving it on the skin for as long as possible before rinsing, then it will stop foot odour completely.
  • Thanks Haffiana; the only problem with Hibiscrub is the drying out of skin that occurs; the Boots spray with Byotrol did not dry skin -at all- and therefore is far more preferable for many people. Hibiscrub can be found on the shelves in Boots, not just 'behind the counter'.
  • Oh, and BTW, no response as yet from Byotrol; I have also emailed Boots and will keep you posted on any responses I get from either of them!

Hi franchick, I did email Boots and they replied that they sometimes stop selling lines but no reason given why they've stopped selling it. They did confirm that they'd checked stock and there was none left anywhere. I've bought some Scholl 24 hour foot spray £3.99 at Superdrug and OH has been using that for the past week. It's OK but it takes ages to dry and he's almost gone through a can already. The Boots stuff lasted loads longer. It's a shame because I must have been buying it for over 20 years in some form or other.
Haffiana, I can't really see my OH having the patience to use the Hibiscrub.
  • DebbieR - the reason behind things is often the most important element to find out, at least for me it is! :D Here's hoping there is a *solution* to all smelly feet everywhere!!
  • Hello everyone

After some persistence with my Boots email enquiry (as in I asked them to find out more specifically *why*), I received this response:

"Thanks for your response to my recent email.

I've spoken to the relevant product team and they've advised that due to an issue with one of the ingredients whereby we've not been able to obtain it, the product is being reformulated. Sadly, I'm unable to confirm which of the ingredients it is.

However, the item should be returning to our stores sometime next year. Unfortunately, we've not been given an exact date.

Thanks again for contacting us. If you've any further questions, please contact us and quote your personal reference number XXXXXXX"

So it does seem that the product will be available some time during 2016, which is good news for me :). In the meantime, other, inferior, products are available!!
