Is he employed? If so, they can take it straight out his wages.0

Yes he is employed. Do you know if it is a long process?0 -

It can take a few months. The employer has until the 19th of the month following the deduction being made to pass it onto the CSA. So for example, if they deducted some money at the end of October, the employer has until 19th Nov to get it to the CSA and then they have to get it to you.
They can only take up to 40% of his salary so you wouldn't get the entire amount in one lump sum (assuming its a high amount). You should call the CSA to jig them along in collecting it or your file will sit on someones desk for 6 months.0 -

Note the CSA may wish to let him fail at paying by standing order before going down the enforcement route and issuing a deduction of earnings order. You need to keep in regular contact with the caseworker and stress the need to create a regular source of support for the child.0

What happens next is they'll hound him for payment, take his money directly from his wages, probably ending up in him leaving his job, going on the dole, then he ends up on benefits which then we all pay.
Makes perfect sense!0 -
Cannot be much of a father if he doesn't want to contribute to the upbringing of his child0

Is being a parent just about flinging money in a pot?0 -
Hi skye,
Before accepting arrears on the case, i would suggest requesting his file.
CSA/CMS have been known to make mistakes.....
Unless he acknowledges the arrears are actually owed.
Thanks
