So you are expected to take on an unwanted Mum role and are expected to wear possibly unsuitable clothes (does the owner also wear skinny jeans ?)
It pays below the legal minimum and they also break the law when it comes to holiday pay.

It's legal for even part times jobs to pay holiday pay. You don't get much but you do get some. I would tell the employers you will only work for them if you get at least minimum wage and the statutory minimum holiday pay. And if you do work for them make sure you get pay slips and everything is above board with tax.
Or you could maybe try and find another place that will follow the law if you can!0 -
If you can be bothered I would take the job and put them right over the next month making all the other employees aware of their rights.
Possibly putting in NMW report to HMRC if they don't fix things/get rid
Minimum wage and holiday pay for starters.
Statutory holiday is 5.6weeks(prorata) for two days a week that is 11.2 days.
A simple calculation is 12.07% of base pay.0 -
I am seriuosly worried when a employer doesnt know the legal minimum they have to pay, or that they dont know they have to pay holiday too. They seem like a right shower, i would be declining the offer of employment with them. But as an employee i would be i would also want to be clued up on such things too.0

I was thinking this, too - If you can be bothered, take the job, raise the issue of the hourly rate and if they don't address it, report it to HMRC. If they are genuinely unaware then they may listen to wah t you say and correct the error., If they know and don't care then it begs the question of what else are they ignoring, and reporting them imcreases the changces of it being put rightAll posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
If you haven't had the job offer in writing yet I would certainly ask for full details. It's possible that unpaid breaks are included which would affect the hourly rate.0

I decide to decline the job, I emailed to say that I just didn't feel it was personally suitable for me. Which besides the hourly rate/holiday pay issue, I think was pretty accurate.0 -
