Solicitors source of deposit?

I'm just filing out my solicitors pack and there is a source of deposit form. It says I need 6 months of bank statements for it? I have a passbook savings account with only 4 months in it and no statements? Should I just send this?
Also it says I don't need to show all the funds I need just a majority?
So far I have my deposit in there but will be getting my fees (£2002 they've quoted) together before exchange, so I don't have that to show them yet, is that ok or will they question why I don't have that money yet?
I've only just started the process and as yet don't even have a mortgage offer!
