Mortgage with CCJ

Hello all

I have a CCJ from Feb 2014 from a private parking company (it's a long story).

I was just wondering what my future chances of getting a mortgage with this hanging over my head. The CCJ is the only (a major one I know) problem on my credit files. This CCJ was 'satisfied' a few months after I realised it had been issued.

I am currently saving for a deposit, the CCJ is nearly 2 years old and was for a very small sum (£145) is it likely if I have a decent deposit in place I may be considered after the CCJ is 3 years old or will I have to wait until it drops off my file completely?

Many thanks and go easy.

  • Hi Enook,

There would be lenders willing to consider you for a mortgage with adverse credit but naturally you'd expect to be charged a higher interest rate and you may have to put down a 15% deposit.

Yes, lots of people with the right lenders.

Why did you allow a CCJ for £145 to appear on your record? Even at the point of inception you had 30 days to pay and stop it appearing.

Expensive way to prove a point maybe?

If you have paid the ccj and there circumstances even slightly shall we say unfavourable.
Apply to have the ccj put aside

Depending on your deposit level you could obtain lending next week Enook.

You just need to engage a good mortgage broker.
