What are Advents?

I joined in January so missed out on them last year but I am guessing advents are some sort of xmas competition, just wondered exactly what they were and how do I go about entering them?
Thank you xx

There are many Advent branded "competitions" around December and each year the number of them that offer things like free delivery, discounts, tips (recipes etc), or other non-prizes seems to be increasing while the number with significant prizes has dropped considerably.

It's december madness. Clear your diary, forget the housework and feeding the family..
You'll spend hours doing them - some are fun - but you're not likely to win much as MJM has said.

Thanks to those that post the comps!!

And make sure all your Christmas shopping and prep is done by 30th November because you wont have time for any of that come 1st December. Advents will rule your life. You will go to bed thinking about them and as soon as you open your eyes in the morning.. guess what :)

last year I won a pair of audio earmuffs.!

Jack i wouldnt pin too much hope on winning christmas through advents. Even if you are lucky enough to win chances are prizes won't be dispatched until the new year :D

I agree with this totally - had one not arrive until Feb one year. Wish companies would realise that giving a 10% discount is not a prize either
