London Underground Tube Refunds

Options
Has anyone used ClaimMyRefund to claim service delay refunds on the tube? What is your experience, please?

I think the idea behind it is great and would love to sign up, but I'm a little wary of handing over my username and the password for my Oyster account.

I know my credit card info is not revealed, but anyone with the username and password can still see other personal info, like my address and security questions and answers, etc. They can even close the account or make other changes.

I guess I'm looking for some reassurance that the site is legit and safe!

Thanks. MLS

Are you talking about a refund to your oyster card or the fare spent on a contactless credit card?
If it is about your Oyster card, why not register it with TFL and use their refund process. I use this every time through my account (all online), when my journey is delayed for more than 15 mins and have them refund directly to the oyster card and pick it up at the station of my choice. It had never went wrong and as long as there was a reason to refund, they didn't hesitate one bit.

Thanks Baby Angel. I've been claiming that way for years, but it takes time and often I forget to claim or by the time I remember to claim I have forgotten when the delay was, etc. I then have to trawl through my travel history to spot any abnormally long journeys.

However, the point of Claim My Refund is that it automates the whole process, ie it keeps an eye on your travel history and claims for you whenever your journey takes 15 minutes longer than it should. You don't have to keep records of each delay and then fill out the forms and you don't need to worry about whether the delay was 14 minutes or 16 minutes, etc.

If safe, it is an incredibly convenient tool. But that's a big IF! MLS

Just read their site thoroughly now. Maybe you should get re-assurance from someone who actually used it. It seems to be managed by just one person. Please read their T&Cs. They are not affiliated in any way to TFL who will ultimately issue the refund. The tfl process itself is not really bad. You will have more control of your data.
