Comping Challenge...what I learned

so i joined the comping challenge to enter 4000 comp each month, i started in May:
my total for 5 months : 26528 comps entered
my wins for 5 months : 7


7 win for 26528 comps!!!!!! that is 1 win for every 3789 comps enter.


so what have i learned?? i am quite unlucky lol. it was really interesting to count up how many i enter and what my win ratio was. will i stop comping? NO! lol, if i hadnt entered those 26000 comps i wouldnt have won anything. and i have had some lovely wins, so i will continue

I was in from the start in February but RL (and getting tired of not winning, if I'm honest :cool:) kept getting in the way and I only managed 24,770 over the 8 months. I got 10 wins in that time, small prizes only, which I guess means 1 win in every 2,477 entered.

So not a great ratio but I am aware there people on here who have been comping longer than I have and won nothing :eek: so don't want to complain too much.

Looking back at my own s/sheet, I did do better, both in number and quality of prizes, when I was entering more comps, although I notice that overall in 2014 I only entered 29,023 but won 35 prizes which is 1 in every 829 comps and which included cash, two Kindles, two tablets and a 40' TV :T so I am not sure it can be reduced to just a numbers game.

I am not stopping comping at the moment but have decided to see how the Advents go this year - they can take up a lot of time and effort and I have never had huge success with them and if that pattern is the same this year I may well take a break

there are a lot more compers than there used to be, i dont do well at all in the advents but i will still do them as i really enjoy doing the extra

i love comping so it is a bonus when i win. since writing the first post this morning i have received an email to say i won £100 amazon voucher!!! so yay me!

If I am honest I enjoyed the craic on the thread, we had some grand laughs, I will miss that.

I think the community spirit in here makes up for the lack of wins :beer:

I made 48,552 entries, but about 30,000 of those were in the first 3 months and a lot of them were multiple entries into the C2Ws.

Had 5 wins, so my win rate is 1 in 9710!! Oh dear, I hope I don't get the wooden spoon! Not something I want to "win" My win rate for different comps is probably more like 1 in 4000ish!

I was trying to stop counting for a bit, but several times yesterday caught myself instinctively tapping my phone screen (even though it was blank!) as I was using a counter app during the challenge

Was great fun, I enjoyed living vicariously through those who won prizes and told us what they'd won! Thanks everyone

i felt like i was missing something today as i wasnt using my clicker, might go back to using it and keep a note of how many i enter still

I joined in March haven't counted September because once we reached the 1 million I gave up lol. So March to August inclusive I entered 40195 competitions and won 114 prizes. So an average of 1 win for every 352 comps.

I only enter for stuff we would want as a family and a lot of stuff is for my son so may range from sticker books up to a tablet, amazon vouchers etc x

ETA I don't do dailies or ctws

I didn't join in until May and I had a couple of really busy months where I was not comping very much.

Most of my wins come from web entry though I had one Click to Win and two Daily Draw wins. The dailies do increase your entry numbers but think I will stick to lower figures but do more web ones (think that makes sense - well it does to me lol)

I joined in March and stopped once we'd reached 1 million so my numbers are from March-August.
