Help please RE: Mum's food waste

I was just wondering if the mum was always like this, or if it's just happened in the last 10 years.
But in any event, I don't think it'd be right to move back in and try and change the way the mum does things. If I was in this situation, I'd say to my mum that I couldn't afford / didn't want to spend so much on food, so perhaps it'd be better if we do our own thing regarding food shopping.Early retired - 18th December 2014

If you find a way to change someone's behaviour like this then please let me know, my OH drives me scatty with this! He grew up in a house where the cupboards and fridge were always full and everything was branded. He cooks from scratch but he's quite happy to waste expensive ingredients. I also can't get him to eat any of the food I used to eat before we were together so, in order to save money, I end up eating what he eats.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A.
