Full-time employed, looking for weekend work

I have a full-time job which I love but am looking to earn some extra pocket money by working weekends. Two questions really.
What sort of places can I look for this type of work?
Should I inform my manager at the full-time job that I am looking for weekend work? (They will probably be contacted for a reference)

It's probably a good idea to keep your employer informed. Many employment contracts (including mine) have a clause in requiring that you discuss/seek permission before taking on another role, partly because of potential conflicts in hours/interests, increased stress on the employee if they are having no rest days, but probably most importantly because taking on a second job on top of full time work might put you outside the Working Time Regulations.0

Is there any chance of you getting a raise where you are?0

Supermarkets often have weekend work.
Hotels, pubs, restaurants, country clubs - they will be looking to recruit soon for the Christmas period but jobs could be on going throughout the year.
Cleaning jobs. Warehouse jobs. Call Centres...
I've done all of the above at weekends to earn some extra money, but like I say, depends on what you really want.
Google weekend jobs in your area.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Worthwhile checking out NHS Jobs for weekend staff (catering, domestic, clerical etc.) They also pay higher rates to those at the weekend than during the week (or you could go bank).0

Even so, I'd rather maximize earnings by putting in more work at the weekends
Bear in mind that you will also maximise other things - like how knackered you are all the time. And if that begins to impact on your weekday job, you could find yourself without it. The working time regulations may not be relevant - but there is actually a very good reason why they exist, and that is because a tired worker is a bad worker, an unhealthy worker, and an accident waiting to happen.0
