Almost a win!

I received a lovely email from Sheerluxe a few minutes ago congratulating me on winning VIP tickets to Brides the show and details on picking a gorgeous Blue Nile necklace (worth £1440!). Unfortunately I am unwell so won't be able to make it this weekend so I've had to turn it down - so if you entered, keep an eye on your email...hopefully it will be one of you!

I wonder what would have happened if you claimed the tix but just couldn't attend on the day? Maybe you should have accepted and then just happened to have got sick/had sick kids/transport problems/etc on the day in question.

Depends what the T&Cs were, if it was to be collected at the show or sent on after (with the timescale it was unlikely to have been sent before the show), the prize might simply have been forfeited if the winner failed to attend instead of being offered to someone else.
