Gemzie - your ins do look cute, I need to get some body spray for DD so may have a look at those if I go near a poundstretcher.

Still chipping away at my toiletries stock pile.

Managed to UU 7 items in August (despite a week away when I use different items) and 7 in September (when I had a long weekend away)

I've identified 2 items that will definitely go this month and 3 that will probably go. That leaves me 2 to find to match the number again, so I can see me pushing myself to use a face mask which will cover 1 of those. Just 1 more item to try and locate to finish ;)

Two more items to add to my PP list, which now comprises 12 items, realistically some of these will not happen in October, particularly if I do not manage to fit body moisturising into my routine somehow:eek: Also as my skin is having a good spell (crossed fingers smiliey) I am using some of my other products while I can:D

    Lush Porridge Soap
15ml Clarins Skin Beauty Repair Concentrate SOS treatment.

    I have my first uu

Elemis Tranquil Touch Shower Cream 50ml - this is very nice and I would happily use but wouldn't pay full price.

  • UU here Boots Extracts coconut butter body butter. I've had workmen in and they needed to move the unit my toiletries are in...two grown men struggled a little while I chuckled in the office next door a little. Silly men could have just taken out a couple of the Lush hat boxes I store them in...guess they didn't like to pry. I'd like to think its the cabinet that's heavy, it is oak, and not that I've too many smellies:A:A
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

Hello  I'd like to join, if I may? Got lots of toiletries and beauty items to use up, sell or donate. I haven't made a list yet, but have already kinda been doing this challenge since we moved house in June. I'd be interested to see what I've got and save some money by not buying more!

DH has already moaned about smelling like a fruit salad as I've been putting out shower gels received as pressies rather than buying his preferred brand, but I'm sure he'll live ;)

    Welcome Dizzy Imp!
I got given some top range coconut oil to review the other week, and having bought some beeswax ingots, I got around to making my own lotion bars today.

I read that grating the beeswax wrecked the grater by leaving it gummed up and very hard to clean. I've had my grater since 1977, it's ex Army issue, 53 years old and I'm rather fond of it. So I prepared the beeswax by paring off shavings with a veggie peeler.

I then put the shavings - approx 30g - into a jar with approx 40g of the coconut oil, and stood the jar on a silicone mat in a pan of boiling water. Stirring vigorously emulsified the wax and the coconut oil as it melted. Once melted and blended I poured the mix in to some Lego shaped silicone ice cube moulds (the most suitable ones I had).
The lotion bars seem good, but I think I will add more coconut oil next time, perhaps a wax to oil ratio of 3:5 rather than 3:4. They set at room temperature very quickly.

In fact some of the mix set on the shoulders of the jar as it was poured out, as they were above the boiling water, I'll have it deeper next time, so they are hotter.
I added a few drops of lemon oil for fragrance, but you can't really detect it to be honest. The lotion bars do feel exactly like lip balm; the profit margins on that must be staggering.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
