Christmas Working Hours

Options
My usual working pattern is:

Week 1 - Mon, Tues - 07.30-19:30, Sat, Sun - 0800-18:00

Week 2 - Weds, Thurs, Fri - 07:30-19:30

If I am asked to work on Christmas Day (fFiday) or on the Bank Holiday Monday, my working hours will be 08:00 until 18:00 instead of the normal weekday hours which are 07:30-19:30.

Do I have to use my holiday entitlement to go towards the unworked hours which would be normally included in those days' shifts or would I be allowed to go into work at my usual hours?

Ask your employer to clarify that those shorter days will count as a full day's work. That would be the best solution for you I think.

I work part time in a public sector job.. The office closes an hour early on New Year's Eve and i have to make up the time on another day to make sure that i work my full contracted hours for that week. The early finish is not actually 'given' to us, despite what the service-users think!

Definitely ask HR though, you may have an employer who has a little bit of generosity at that time of year.
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
