And the Beat Goes on...
Liverpool celebrated another famous birthday in January as The Cavern Club hit the big 5-0. The legendary home of Merseybeat takes to the stage with a variety of sounds guaranteed to recreate the unique atmosphere of a truly unique era.
Also marking the club's birthday year is a three-disc anniversary CD, The Cavern - The Most Famous Club In The World, released on 20 August.
The CD features 50 tracks from legendary artists who have appeared at the club during the last five decades, creating a Who's Who of British popular music, and revealing the importance and influence The Cavern Club has held since 16 January 1957.
For the first time on a commercial CD, both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones are featured, along with stars of Merseybeat including Gerry and The Pacemakers, Cilla Black and The Searches. Bringing the track list up-to-date, Arctic Monkeys deliver a previously unreleased live version of The View From The Afternoon, while
Oasis join the list of legends with Part of the Queue.
