NHS - Anyone moved from clinical to non-clinical?

I've just been pondering my future career within the NHS as I'm not sure how much room there is for progression within my field as an AHP. This is mainly because I don't want to work in certain settings due to lack of variety in the work and I don't want to re-locate, therefore I'm limited somewhat in terms of opportunity. I am keen to progress and since really only about 25% of my role is face-to-face patient contact and there are other aspects of my job that I enjoy (e.g. project work, service improvement, training others), I was wondering about the possibility of moving up the ladder outside of a clinical role.

Therefore I'm calling on NHS workers who perhaps started in a clinical role and then moved on (either in the NHS or completely changed paths) or perhaps people who trained in a clinical field but didn't pursue it and chose to do something else, to share their experiences. Are you glad you made the change or do you miss the clinical aspect of your role?
