My Six Week Wedding Challenge

OK, two days in and so far so good. I've had a good think and decided that seeing as I am getting paid the day before I leave the country and will therefore have a fair bit of cash handy I should put all my spare money onto the credit card rather than my savings account. I am thinking this because I can then use it for big ticket things such as paying for shipping and have a degree of protection. That and I get the balance back down towards the £0 rather than the £2000 limit!
So, I have placed the credit card in my freezer inside a plastic container of water. My boyfriend will surely stop me if he catches me using my hairdryer to get it to defrost more quickly!
I have so far resisted the chocolate. And very strangely, I got on the scales this morning and I was only 73kg! I really should only weigh mysefl once a week as all us women know how we go up and down the scales at the drop of a hat for just about any reason at all. In fact, why is it we shoot up several pounds the day of a big event when you want to look good in a little black dress!
At least with this weather none of us are under pressure to look good in swimming costumes - unless your house is being flooded yet again.Got £820 back from HSBC! Now entering comps like mad with the hope of winning a nice long holiday....0 -
Hi Danielle,
I have just caught this thread, glad to see you're doing well!
A couple of hints- I find diet coke handy to stave off the sweet tooth cravings- do you have a fridge at work? You could get a 2L bottle at the beginning of the week, works out so much cheaper than cans (but why does it taste nicer from the can?)
Also, instead of weighing yourself how about taking a weekly photograph of yourself in the dress? I find it easier to gauge whether I have put on a few lbs from how my jeans feel and you'll have a visual reminder of how you are doing!
Good luck- I will be watching how you're getting on....Saving for an early retirement!0 -

Thanks Imelda! My problem is I love diet coke too much and I am spending about £2 a day on it - I stopped yesterday and now I am getting headaches! I am going to beat the sweet tooth with some home made low GI flapjacks I made last night from a GI Diet book I've got - wholemeal flour, oats, unsweetended apple puree, sultanas, sunflower seeds, dried apricots, apple juice and three eggs - they're delicious and only cost me £3 for 16 bars worth. At my local cafe a flapjack costs £1 so I am saving £13! If anyone wants the recipe let me know and I'll type it in later.
I know I'll be at my target weight if I can fit into my jeans without making horrible faces! I lost a lot of weight on WW a few years back and a couple of weeks ago I signed up online as I can't get to meetings. I like the weekly weigh ins because they keep me on target - I am going to make sure I only weigh myself on Tuesdays now so I can get a better idea of how much I've put on or not.Got £820 back from HSBC!
